Here is some information on our whole team. We want you to know who we are!
Renee’: 
I grew up in Centralia and attended Centralia Community College, majoring in Music, with the intention of becoming either a music teacher, or becoming a music therapist. I worked full time at the local hospital as a ‘ward clerk’ while attending college. My life took a turn one night when a lady I worked with asked me if I would like to take a year off and go to Switzerland to be a nanny. In a heartbeat, I said yes. I went to Switzerland for a year, only it ended up being 10 years instead. I met my husband in Switzerland, and finished my Bachelors and Masters degrees there in International Marketing ( music by then was just a hobby).
I enjoyed living in Europe, being able to travel, learn different languages, and experience different cultures.
We moved back to the States and started our own business, somehow ending up in my hometown ( I swore I would never move back there ) and running a golf course and a restaurant.
We have two boys, ages 14 and 18, and we have now been married 30 years. My Dad needed some help managing his insurance agency at a point when I was ready to be done with the restaurant business. I had no desire to be an insurance agent at the time. I helped Dad out, hired two fabulous employees, and started to learn about the business. I learned one thing: I loved it. I loved interacting with people, I loved teaching and educating our customers, and I loved helping our clients out when they needed us. I also loved being a boss. The two original employees I hired for my Dad 16 years ago, are still with me today. I have hired many more since then, and it is fun watching our team grow. I started as an agent in 2004, built my own business, then bought my Dad’s agency in 2008, when he retired (don’t let that fool you, he still comes to the office everyday, just to check up on us). In 2009 I had an opportunity to open a second location in Longview, which has turned out to be a great fit for our team.
I love doing what I’m doing, and I love the team I’ve created to do it with.
Teri:
I graduated from the Dalles High School in Oregon, and moved to Chehalis right after marrying my husband, Denny in 1986. I have two adult children ages 28 and 26. For years I was a stay at home mom, but then went to work as a waitress for about 4 years and had my own cleaning business for 5 . I was ready for a change, and applied for a job at the Corwin Agency, then belonging to Pete Corwin
(Renee’s Dad) and was hired to work there in 1999. I stayed on in the agency when Renee’ took it over and have since become her office manager. The best thing about working in the Corwin-Rey agency is the interaction I get to have with our clients and with our staff. I love educating our clients, and have a ton of fun doing it. I love travelling with Renee’ to the different achievement clubs that Farmers offers us, and getting to know other agents around the nation and taking advantage of learning more and more about our company and what we have to offer.
Yesenia: ( also known as Jessie )
I’m 32 Years old and grew up in Centralia WA, I graduated from High School in Chehalis, WA and met my husband while in school, and have been married for 12 years. I have three children, twin boys and a little girl. Our family is bilingual in both Spanish and English. Before working for Renee I worked at the Centralia Providence Hospital as a Spanish Translator. I was on call all the time and got to work in all departments. I really loved my job. When I found out I was expecting the twins I had to put the job on hold..and ended up looking for a different career one that would not be on call.
In August 2005 a friend of mine told me about a position available with Farmers Insurance so right away I went in to turn in my resume and met with Renee.
I was hired, and am now fully licensed and one of her agency producer. I love my job because it has given me the opportunity to learn about all of the products we offer, including commercial and life insurance. I am most proud of my qualification to Toppers Club 2014. I am so fortunate to have an awesome boss who loves and cares about me and my co- workers. I couldn’t see myself anywhere else then to be here with my Corwin Rey family.
Shirley:
Born in Alexandria, Virginia and moved to Tulelake California when I was 1, and attended 12 years of school while there. I went to college to become a History teacher, and became a mother instead. When I was not working in the potato fields with my dad I did odd jobs in such places as bars, restaurants, bus stops, painting, babysitting and more. In that time I became a single mom for 6 years. I remarried and moved to a logging camp in Alaska where I raised 5 kids, taught correspondence to kindergartners and high school students and substituted in a one room school house. When we moved to Juneau Alaska I went to work for Montgomery Wards as the assistant manager. When that closed I did a short time with the state working on the permanent fund, and started a job with the Pacific NW Research Station, part of the Forest Service, until coming to Centralia Wa in 1999. I applied to a lot of positions with little luck until I got the position with Pete Corwin, where Renee’ was the office manager. I then worked for Renee’ until 2008 when I thought I would retire. Instead I went to work for Glen Grant in Longview, and wouldn’t you know it, now I am back working for Renee’ after she bought his business in 2014. I also currently have, besides my 5 children, 8 grandkids and 11 great-grandchildren and love spending time with all of them.
Karina:
I was born in a very small town in Zacatecas Mexico , at the age of five months my parents moved the family to California for a few months and then moved to Yakima Washington where I went to school. After I finished school we moved to Centralia . where I became a very young single mother of five girlsI I worked in a restaurant beginning at age 18. I started by doing maintenance 3 times a week and then worked full time as a dishwasher. After a while I worked my way up to bussing, hostess and was a waitress and bartender. You could say I did a little bit of everything there. Then one day, my coworker said I should apply at Renee Corwin Rey agency, that her sister worked there and they were looking for someone. It took me a long time to finally go apply, and when I finally did, I got the job! I continued to work both jobs, both at Corwin-Rey agency and at the restaurant for a period of time, to make ends meet. I finally went full time, and quit my waitress job. I then had a goal of getting my insurance licenses, which I am proud to say I accomplished last year. I have been working with the #CorwinRey team for 6 years now!
Traci:
I was born in Idaho, and moved to the local area as a toddler where I’ve remained since. I met my husband on a blind date and we’ve been married for 12 years and have two wonderful boys, ages 11 and 8.
After highschool I started working in banking, followed by finance and accounting, finally moving into insurance about 13 years ago. Initially I specialized in personal lines, moving exclusively into commercial insurance in 2010. I was recruited into the Corwin-Rey Agency by a friend and former #corwinrey team member in the Spring of 2014 to lead the commercial team. Shortly thereafter, I completed my Certified Insurance Counselor designation.
Kara:
I was was born in Colorado, moved to the Longview area when I was 8 and have made this community my home ever since. I live here with my husband of 15 years, my 12 year old son, as well as my large Newfoundland dog and Tortoiseshell cat.
I became a Commercial Accountant Administrator, for the Farmers Corwin-Rey Insurance Agency, in February 2015. Prior to working at Farmers Insurance, I had been a bank teller for 5 years when someone approached me about becoming a Personal Insurance Account Administrator. I have been hooked ever since. I worked in personal insurance for 7 years then as a Commercial Account Administrator for a little over 2 years.
I love working at the Corwin-Rey Insurance Agency and being a part of a great team. Our agency is able to build on relationships with our customers and this not only provides them with the best experience possible, I get to have a wonderful experience too. When I am not working, I love spending time with my family, going to Disney World, camping and enjoy “tinkering” as an amateur photographer.
Melissa:
I grew up in the Longview/Kelso area and graduated from high school in 2002 from Castle Rock High School. I’ve been married to my high school sweetheart for 11 years and have two children- Logan (9) and Lelah (6). We enjoy hiking, camping, beach trips and picnics by the river. I became a #CorwinRey team member in 2013 and have loved it since day one. I love everyone I work with and feel like they are truly my second family. I’ve worked in customer service as a cashier, waitress, barista and receptionist- this environment is where I belong though; I enjoy meeting new customers but love seeing familiar faces each month.
Heidi:
I was born in Newberg, Oregon. Shortly after when I was 3 years old my dad was offered a job as a pastor in Rainier, Oregon and that is we were raised. I was truly blessed with my wonderful parents and my older twin sisters, we had a fun family to be raised in. We spent a lot of time going camping at the coast and taking road trips to see our grandparents in Arizona. After graduating from high school I lived in Kirkland, WA and attended Northwest University where I worked as a part time office assistant in a local law firm.
I have been married for 12 years. My husband and I have 2 beautiful children and we currently live in the same small community that we were raised in. I was able to stay home with my children until they started elementary school. Shortly after I was offered a job as a part time customer service rep for a Farmers Insurance office that one of my very best friends worked at. We both had young children and were able to job share. She worked 1/2 the week and I worked the other 1/2! It was the perfect schedule for a mom with young children.
I came to work for Renee about a year later as an adopted employee from the agency she bought. No looking back after that, and have been with Farmers for almost 7 years!
The best thing about my job is that I am still be able to be a mom first and an insurance agent second. I get to come to work each day and work with a wonderful team and I really enjoy what I do!
Lexi:
I was born and raised in Longview, WA and enjoy doing outdoor activities like snowboarding, and wakeboarding. Anything artsy such as painting, making bracelets, or crafting I love! I graduated high school from Mark Morris and went to Clark College and earned my Associates of Arts. I now am pursuing my Bachelors in graphic design and was hired at the Corwin-Rey Agency to help with the social media sites, as well as be a receptionist. If you come into the Longview office to pay a bill, you will be seeing me!
Natalie: 
I was born and raised in Longview Washington and graduated high school from Mark Morris in 2012. I really enjoy golfing and bowling. I was a two time state champion in high school for bowling. I’m attending Lower Columbia College right now and finishing my last few classes to be able to transfer and get into Dental Hygiene. I was hired at the Corwin- Rey Agency as a Marketer, which is at the same time challenging and fun.
