When you go on vacation in the United States, do you normally rent a vehicle? Did you know that you may be able to opt out of the auto insurance offered by the rental agency?
You might qualify, if one of your vehicles at home:
- Is not being driven. Think of it like the rental car is borrowing insurance from your car at home.
- Has comprehensive and collision coverage.
- Has K5 (loss of use) for at least the time that you’ll be using the rental car. In the event that you’re in an accident while using your rental car, K5 will pay the per-day cost to have it repaired in the shop. This coverage can be taken off as soon as you’re finished with the rental car, or you can keep it so that if your personal vehicle is in an accident, you will have a rental car while your car is being prepared.
We hope you have a wonderful time on vacation! Send us a postcard, we’d love to share it to our Facebook page! If you have questions about your current auto insurance plan, give our team a call at 360-414-8754.
